Wax Removal

One of the first things your audiologist might suggest to you is ear wax removal - this is because a buildup of wax can cause muffled hearing and even some discomfort. If this is an issue for you, you can take advantage of our on-site wax removal service for quick and pain-free results.

A build-up of ear wax is a common problem. If left untreated, however, it can cause discomfort, tinnitus and hearing loss.

To alleviate this, the best course of action is to seek a professional wax removal service. Getting rid of this excess wax is quick and painless and can help to alleviate any fullness, tinnitus or hearing difficulties you may be experiencing.

Hearing Aids

If you’ve been diagnosed with hearing loss, hearing aids could help you to hear better and communicate more confidently.

Benefits of Hearing Aids

Hearing aids come in different shapes and sizes, but all work in a similar way. They use microphones to pick up noises and adjust the sounds digitally.

Your hearing aids will be specially programmed to match the results of your hearing test.

Hearing aids can:

  • make quieter sounds easier to hear
  • make loud sounds more comfortable
  • make conversations easier
  • help you hear on the phone
  • help you enjoy music, TV and the radio
  • reduce general background noises

Tinnitus

What is Tinnitus?

Tinnitus is the name for hearing noises that are not caused by an outside source. It’s common – around 1 in 8 adults in the UK have tinnitus all the time or regularly.

Most often, tinnitus is linked to hearing loss or other ear conditions. It’s rarely a sign of a serious condition.

What Tinnitus Sounds Like?

Most people describe tinnitus as “ringing in the ears”, but some people hear other sounds such as:

  • hissing
  • humming
  • buzzing
  • whooshing

There may be a single sound or two or more, and the sound may be low, medium or high pitched. It may be there all the time, or come and go.

Many people get tinnitus for a short time – for example, after being exposed to loud music, or when they have congestion because of a cold. But for some people, it doesn’t go away.
